Nashville and Memphis

August 20-25, 2017

Join us for a once in a lifetime tour where we will enjoy an incredible opportunity to witness the total solar eclipse on the afternoon of  August 21st in Nashville Tennessee, as well as enjoy the famed nightlife of “Music City” for three nights with an optional visit to a live show at the Grand Ol Opry on the third night.
Next its on to Memphis for a two night stay with a visit to famed Graceland to see the home of the King, Elvis Presley and the Sun Studios where he recorded his first album. We will also enjoy a morning sightseeing cruise on the mighty Mississippi River.

The Solar Eclipse is a most rare and unique sight that will leave you breathless in awe of the sight of the moon passing in front of the sun and casting its shadow upon the sun.  There are only a few places in the US where the eclipse will be visible and we have selected one of the best for this unique trip experience.

This is one of nature’s most awe-inspiring sights - a total solar eclipse IS where the moon will completely cover the sun and the sun's tenuous atmosphere.  IT is truly an incredible experience to witness which you will remember forever!

We will also have a guest speaker and escort from the Atlanta Astronomy club to tell us about this most unique experience and how to best view it and enjoy it to its fullest.  Nashville was rated one of the top ten locations to view the solar eclipse for its location right on the path of the totality of the eclipse and thus we will enjoy an incredible show in the sky.

In order to provide the best viewing experience and the most time with our special guest astronomy expert, we have limited this tour to only 5 people, so book early!

Daily Itinerary

Sunday August 20th
Fly into Nashville and make your way to check into our hotel, the Quality Inn Downtown Nashville.  The afternoon is at leisure to relax.  The hotel is a short walk from many restaurants, bars and tourist shops on Broadway Street, the hub of activity in downtown Nashville. It also offers a free breakfast in the morning. Rooms include a fridge and microwave.  It even has a guitar shaped indoor pool.

This evening we will have a brief orientation at the hotel with our special guest speaker discussing what we will see at tomorrow’s Solar Eclipse.  Our guest speaker, Phil Danneman, from the Atlanta Astronomy Club, has given many lectures on topics covering a wide range of astronomy issues and will be able to best answer any questions and assist in making your eclipse viewing the best and most memorable.

Monday Aug 21st
After our included breakfast this morning at our hotel, we will gather at a designated time in the late morning and will be driven to the most optimal spot in Nashville for viewing the eclipse.  The Eclipse begins at 11:58AM local time in Nashville.  By 1:27pm, the sun will be completely in the shadow of the moon.  This is called the “Totality of the Eclipse”.   Each of our passengers will be given special eclipse viewing glasses to protect your eyes and enable you to best view the eclipse in the mid-day sunshine.

In order to provide the best viewing experience and the most time with our special guest astronomy expert, we have limited this tour to only 5 people, so book early!
